A VERY DRY SPRING

We were excited that we were able to have WCS Canada and MCFN team members work together this spring to download all of our remote receivers that are tracking lake sturgeon movement in the North French River and Mattagami River. However, we found ourselves faced with a new challenge, with very low water levels. There was not a lot of snow this winter, and not very much rain this spring. The combination meant that our team had to winch the boat over some areas with very low water levels to access all of our receivers this spring! But with hard work, our team managed to download all of our receivers, and collect another year of information from the tagged lake sturgeon.
