We officially launched our 2026 Learning from Lake Sturgeon magazine, or “zine” at the Learning from Lake Sturgeon Open house in Moose Factory last month.

If you didn’t get a physical copy of the zine, you can head to the “Our Research” tab of this website to view or download an electronic copy of the zine.

Read the zine to learn about our most recent research finding, the history of the project, and learn more about hydroelectric development and how it impacts namewak (lake sturgeon) and nipiy (water) in the Moose Cree Homeland.

Extra thanks to Arthur Koosees (MCFN Environment & Youth Intern) and Neepin Quachegan (LFLS Youth Volunteer) for their help and Taylor Galvin (@the_teapee and Indigenous Women Transforming Conservation Fellow) for joining us!
